About

Nicholas Diaz is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Adolescent Mental Health Therapist at Victory Bay, working with teens and families to improve well-being. Prior to Victory Bay, Nicholas has come from a variety of settings, including PHP/IOP programs, inpatient, schools, crisis centers, and outpatient. Through his experiences, Nicholas has worked with various mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, and other stress-related disorders. Nicholas’ main focus areas have been providing trauma-informed care, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Neurocounseling, and working with LGBTQ populations. Nicholas believes the core of healing in counseling begins at the relational and safety levels of interaction between counselor and client.

Nicholas attended Rutgers University, where he received a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, with a minor in both Sociology and Criminology. From there, Nicholas completed his Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Caldwell University. Through his Master’s program, Nicholas completed 700 hours of practicum and internship experience working with children, adolescence, and young adults in PHP and IOP settings. Nicholas received his license to provide mental health counseling in the state of New Jersey shortly after graduating.

Nicholas is passionate about helping individuals reach their full potential. Throughout his clinical experiences, he has been consistently determined to help others make sense of their lived experiences and help them grow, adapt, and become more resilient. Nicholas' main goal in counseling is to provide a safe, non-judgmental, and attentive environment where clients are able to be authentic and vulnerable to aid in their own healing.
